Advantages of the terracotta rain screen

The rain screen technique, which is integrated into ventilated walls, aims to eliminate at its base one of the factors which is necessary to check the penetration of water into the inside of a wall.
This happens when there is the co-existence of 3 factors into the terracotta sunscreen:

-an opening
-water
-a differential force or pressure which makes the water move in through the opening.

The solution involves leaving open joints in the facade which allows free circulation of external air into the internal chamber in such a way that the pressure is equalised.
